Tohora Art

We read The Whale Rider in term one and then we did a painting. We learned about tinting (adding white to lighten) and toning (adding black to darken). You can see our paintings outside our ruma in the corridor.

We have a number of initiatives taking place this term for hakinakina - Sports. These include Marching Jump & Jive teams, Giants coaching for miniball, Sports extension for Year 6's and rugby league. The senior syndicate will also be doing a fundamental skills programme at the new Saxton stadium on May 14th.

Reports and Learner Profiles will go home on Friday 7th May and we look forward to having a 3-way conference with you and your child on either Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th May. We are developing a new reporting system and the tamariki will be sharing with you pieces of their work, what they have been learning and what they need to work on next.
